Hi, I’m Dr. Rebecca, a naturopathic doctor. I’d like to help you feel healthy. For me, health is being comfortable in your body and mind. It means removing the obstacles that are preventing you from living a life that is satisfying and fulfilling. I have been in private practice for over a decade, and have helped hundreds of people to do just that.
I received my doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and masters in Acupuncture at Bastyr University. I have also studied Ayurvedic medicine through apprenticing with physicians in Southern India.
After graduating from Bastyr, I continued my training in alternative medicine with advanced studies and personal mentorship with Thea Elijah, a master Five Element Acupuncturist and Sufi healer. And, because I simply love learning about healing, I studied Sufi healing at the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism. I love incorporating spiritual healing in my work.
Prior to studying medicine, I worked in community organizing and organic farming. I received my Bachelors of Arts from Oberlin College in biology and environmental studies.
In my free time, I love exploring the outdoors and cooking. You can often find me in a messy kitchen having a dance party with my two small children.

What is a Naturopathic Doctor?
Naturopathic doctors undergo education and training in accredited naturopathic medical colleges. Our expertise lies in diagnosing, preventing, and treating acute and chronic illnesses, aiming to restore and promote optimal health by supporting the body’s natural self-healing process. Rather than merely suppressing symptoms, we focus onidentifying the underlying causes of illnesses and devising personalized treatment plans to address them. Our Therapeutic Order™ outlines the natural sequence of therapies to maximize benefits while minimizing potential harm.
The first step in the journey towards health involves removing obstacles that disrupt the body’s natural balance and lead to disease. These obstacles can include poor diet, digestive issues, chronic stress, and individual imbalances. Naturopathic doctors create tailored health regimens based on the individual’s specific obstacles, thereby improving the environment in which the disease developed, and enabling subsequent therapies to be more effective.
Next, we employ various therapies to stimulate and enhance the body’s innate self-healing and curative abilities. These therapies encompass clinical nutrition, botanical medicines, constitutional hydrotherapy, homeopathy, and acupuncture.
Addressing weakened systems comes next. Naturopathic doctors have an array of therapeutics at our disposal to strengthen specific tissues, organs, or systems. This may involve lifestyle adjustments, dietary modifications, botanical medicine, and orthomolecular therapy (using natural substances found in the body, such as vitamins and amino acids).
To improve and maintain skeletal and musculature integrity, physical modalities such as craniosacral therapy, spinal manipulation and myofascial release are utilized.
When necessary, naturopathic doctors employ safe and effective natural substances to restore health, focusing on healing rather than just treating the pathology. If required, we are also trained in pharmacology and can use pharmaceutical drugs, prescribing them or referring patients to conventional medical colleagues. Naturopathic doctors are licensed to prescribe pharmaceutical medications in the state of Vermont, but not in Massachusetts.
In situations where preserving life, limb, or function is paramount, naturopathic doctors refer patients to medical doctors with expertise in surgeries, radiation, or chemotherapy. Simultaneously, they may incorporate complementary or supportive therapies to minimize side effects and enhance the effectiveness of these invasive procedures.
